The Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has termed Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh “not a Lokpriya CM but a Lockpriya CM (not popular but CM putting lock on institutions’ ‘.
Addressing a BJP protest rally organized at Seri Manch Mandi on Saturday to oppose de- notification of the institutions opened by previous BJP government in the state
By the present Congress government , he said , “ “Several health and education institutions opened on public demand in remote areas by the BJP government after taking decisions in the Cabinet meetings have been de-notified by the present government even without taking the issue to the State Cabinet against the norms.”
Criticising the state government, he said, “The Congress government has become unpopular within three months of its formation in the state as people are now criticizing the state government’s decision to close down several institutions.”
Making a scathing attack on the Congress government , he said, “Though the state government is claiming to be a government of happiness (sukh ki sarkar) but it is proving to be a government of miseries (dukh ki sarkar) and claim of changing the system is hollow as it has done nothing than closing down several institutions opened for facilitating people; institutions on Congress MLAs are being notified again but not being opened in case of BJP representative”, he added.
BJP leaders speaking in the rally also decided to vehemently oppose ‘anti –people’ policies of the state government and raise issues of public concern in the coming session of HP Assembly and on public platforms.
Several MLAs and BJP leaders addressed the public meeting.
