Mandi Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chaudhary informed the National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI), the district administration has identified 289 buildings which would be demolished before March 19 for constructing four lane projects.

Interacting with the officers of revenue, electricity, Jalshakti departments and the NHAI officials through a video conference, he said, “The district administration had asked the concerned SDMs to identify the buildings compensation for which has been given to their owners but still not demolished; they have also been directed to snap water and electricity connections of such houses immediately.”

He said, “Out of these 41 houses will be removed in Sadar Mandi, 23 in Balh, 45 in Balichowki and 170 in Sunder Nagar area.”

The DC has urged residents living in these areas to cooperate in this drive to expedite completion of four lane highway at the earliest and also claim compensation for their building if not paid yet.
