Deputy Chief Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri held a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at New Delhi on Friday and urged him to provide budgetary assistance for an effective and sustainable irrigation network in the state to give impetus to farming.

He apprised the minister about the need to strengthen the irrigation network and construction of tube wells as a large area is still deprived of Irrigational facilities.

The Deputy CM also took up the matter of tapping water from Pong and BBMB reservoirs for the drinking purposes for which nearly Rs 1200 crore is needed

He also thanked the minister for releasing an installment of Rs 336 crore under Jal Jiwan Mission to the state and urged him to release Rs 340 crore for Phina Singh project, budget for upcoming sewerage schemes and irrigation projects.
