Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Information and Public Relations (IPR) Sanjay Awasthi stressed upon utilization of various media platforms and to reach to  people through new mediums.

Presiding over a meeting of the IPR department at Shimla on Tuesday, he said, “The department has an important role in taking the policies and welfare schemes of the state government at grass root level since people come to know about the welfare measures taken by the government through media.”

He said, “This helps in establishing strong and positive relations between the government and people; PR is a two way tool which acts as a bridge between people and the government and correct feedback plays an important role in formulating government policies and improving functioning.”

“The department should focus more on providing instant information to the media for a wider impact”, he added.

Welcoming the suggestions to strengthen the department the CPS said, “Efforts would be made to fulfill the demands related to the department at the earliest”.

Earlier, Director Information and Public Relations Kiran Bhadana welcomed the CPS.
