Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur launched 24×7 services of Doordarshan Himachal on Thursday at Shimla.
The Doordarshan will now be available to the people of the state round the clock.
Remembering late Smt. Indira Gandhi the CM attributed the National telecast of Doordarshan to her and said since then a lot of progress has been witnessed in the history of the Doordarshan.
The CM thanked the Union Minister for understanding the necessity of the reach of Doordarshan in remote and far-flung areas of Himachal Pradesh.
He said, ” The state government will ensure equitable development of the state and also sought the cooperation of the Central government in this regard.”
The CM also urged Prasar Bharti to telecast various programmes based on the rich tourist places of Himachal Pradesh to promote tourism potential of the state.
He said, “I hope the central Minister will also advocate for Himachal’s share in all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS)”.
Earlier, Anurag Thakur welcoming the CM said, ” It is a momentous day for Himachal with the launching of 24 hours telecast of Doordarshan with modern equipment would help the state.”
