Four trekkers from West Bengal who went missing last Wednesday in the Malana area of Kullu valley have been traced by the rescue teams on Sunday after five days near  Mt. Ali Ratni Tibba (5,458m).

SP Kullu Gurdev Chand Sharma said, “  Four professional mountaineers i.e  Abhijit Banik (43), Chinmoy Mondal (43), Dibash Dass (37), and Binoy Das (31), all from West Bengal were traced on Sunday and have been brought to base camp at Wachem . None of them is injured or sick and  they will be brought back on Monday.”

He said, “There is no mobile connectivity in the area and little information is available through satellite phone.”

A seven member team had left to scale Ali Ratni Tibba but three members had returned back and had reported the incident. After which rescue teams of Atal Bihari Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports and Kullu Police were sent to rescue the trekkers.

Two helicopters of the Indian Airforce also took sorties from Bhuntar Airport on Sunday to find the missing trekkers.
