Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur honoured family members of freedom fighters in the Har Ghar Tiranga programme organized at Shimla Railway Station on Sunday to commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence.
Shakuntla Devi, wife of freedom fighter Vidyadhar, Suman daughter of Sita Ram Sharma, Mohinder Singh son of Ratti Ram and Chander Mohan grandson of freedom fighter Devi Ram was honoured on the occasion.
Later, the Chief Minister flagged-off a Tiranga rally composed of school students and NCC cadets of different schools of Shimla.
Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Secretary Language, Art and Culture Rakesh Kanwar, Director Language, Art and Culture Pankaj Lalit and Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi were present on the occasion among others.
