Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to give a six percent subsidy on purchase of cartons and trays used for packing apples and other fruits, sold by HPMC, with effect from July 15.
The meeting presided over by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also gave its nod to implement UGC pay scale revision for college and university teachers with effect from January 1 , 2016 and reduce minimum bus fare for 2 kilometers from Rs 7 to Rs 5.
The Cabinet also gave its approval to convert 452 posts of beldars in Jal Shakti Department to pump operators, completing 12 years of service on December 31, 2020 despite not fulfilling education qualification, engage 780 ASHA workers under NHM, NUHM and Non –NUHM and fill up 164 different posts in Kamla Nehru Hospital Shimla.
The Cabinet gave its approval to fill up 54 posts of different categories in Himachal Pradesh Local Audit Department, enhance rank allowance of Home Guards and declare Aryabhatta Geo Informatics and Space Application Center as nodal agency for use of spatial and geo spatial technology .
It gave its approval for creating Nurpur Police District and filling up 39 posts, PWD Sub Division at Sarahan (Chopal), NH Sub Division at Reckong Peo and filling up 10 posts of Extension Officers in Industries Department and 7 posts of mali in silk worm centers.
The Cabinet gave its nod to start science classes in GSS Tattapani, GSS Jadera, Mangla, and Bhadal in Chamba district, Gharer(Solan), open primary schools at Gujjar Basti Chhalluwala, Halana, Gondpur, Kishankot (Sirmour), Khangura, Gandh and Bangbehi in Chamba district.
The Cabinet gave its approval to start science classes in Government Degree College Thural, open PHC at Sukhar , Arla , Balota, Fattu –Ka- Bagh in Kangra district, open sub employment office at Shahpur, upgrade several veterinary dispensaries and open dispensaries at Bahu (Kullu) , Ropa and Tipra (Mandi) and Ayurvedic centers at Khel , Mekhar and Chopal.
It gave its nod to open police posts at Gadagushaini , Aut , Dheera , Bhawarna , upgrade police post Rewalsar to Police Station, Police station at Brahmpukhar, Police Sub Division at Shillai,open PWD sub divisions at Khondawala, Jwalamukhi , Nankhari and Kholighat .

Implementation of UGC pay scales to University and College teachers was unnecessarily delayed despite the fact that UGC provides sizeable funds to meet the financial burden on the State arising out of the pay scale revision.
