Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to handover the police recruitment paper leak case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said, “We have decided to handover the ongoing probe in leaking of paper for screening test for recruitment of 1134 police constables in the state to the CBI after the arrests of kingpin Shiv Bahadur in Varanasi (UP) and Amar from Bihar; as the accused belong to different states it would be appropriate to hand over the further investigation to CBI, ” 

He said, “Since the recruitment process was handled by many senior police officers of the state and SIT is also having officers from the state police CBI probe would be the apt agency .”

The CM said, “Our government is committed to book all accused in the case and nobody would be spared; we had cancelled the screening test, conducted on March 27,  immediately after the complaint of paper leak; till now 73 accused (including 38 candidates) have been arrested, one car, 15 mobile phones, several laptops, Rs 8.49 lakhs in cash collected from the dalals have been recovered in the case by the SIT, ” he added .

The SIT would continue its probe till the CBI takes over the case.
