Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to promulgate an ordinance to omit section 11 – A & 12 of Salaries and Allowances of MLAs and Ministers regarding payment of income tax presently by the state government. After this amendment the income tax on salaries given to ministers and MLAs will be paid by themselves.
The Cabinet Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also gave its approval to start mobile clinics in every Assembly Constituency, which would provide facilities of testing, consultation, free medicine etc in rural areas under Mukhya Mantri Mobile Clinic Yojna.
It approved high pay structure to Police Constables appointed in 2015- 16 allowing grant of higher pre-revised pay band on notional basis effective from January 1, 2016 and also giving them option for fixation of pay under relevant factor.
The Cabinet gave its approval to the Draft of Policy for the recruitment of 5000 workers in the Public Works Department for maintenance of roads and other official works on monthly payment of Rs 4500 and to fill up three posts of Commandant Home Guards.
The Cabinet gave its approval to provide No Default Guarantee to HRTC for raising term loan of Rs. 69 crores at interest rate of 6.71 per cent per annum to purchase 200 buses and 5 tempo travelers.
It also gave its approval to start science (Medical and Non-Medical), Geography and Physical Education) classes in Government Degree College Kandaghat, open primary schools Saimpur & Darhal ( Mandi district), Rarik & Shainoor ( Lahaul –Spiti) and Thandoli ( Simour).
It decided to create one post each of Professor, Associate Professor and two posts each of Senior Resident and OTA in Regional Transplant Surgery Department of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda.
It also decided to open PHCs, Veterinary hospitals, upgrading several schools and pubic offices at several places.
