The Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission has decided to hold elections for newly created Municipal Corporations (MCs) of Mandi, Solan, Palampur and Dharamshala MCs on April 7.
As per the notification issued by the commission the nominations for the election can be filed on March 22, 23 and 24 from 11 to 3 pm. The scrutiny of papers would be undertaken on March 25, while the candidates can withdraw their papers by March 27. The polling for the election would be held on April 7 from 8 am to 4 pm and counting would begin immediately after the polling.
The returning officers have issued election programme for the respective Municipal Corporation. The election for only other MC of Shimla are due in 2022.
