Sanjay Saini, Assistant Public Relations officer (APRO) has brought laurels for people of Himachal Pradesh by wining this year’s National Award for Excellence in Journalism.

Sanjay Saini, former correspondent of Dainik Bhaksar at Mandi has been designated to get 2019 National Award under rural journalism category jointly with Raj Chengappa, Group Editorial Director of India Today magazine.

People of Balh and relatives of Sanjay Saini have congratulated him for his this achievement.  

The award would be given in a function being held on the National Press Day on November 16 at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi. The function would be presided over by the Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu and Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar.

This achievement of Sanjay Saini, who has recently joined as APRO in the Directorate of Information and Public Relations Head Quarter at Shimla after working for Dainik Bhaskar at Mandi for more than 15 years, is quite laudable since the co- recipient of the award in this category includes Raj Chengappa, former Editor- in- chief of The Tribune, Chandigarh.  

The other recipient of the National Award for Excellence in journalism also includes Gulab Kothari Chairman of Rajasthan Patrika, a leading newspaper of Rajasthan. These awards also carry a cash prize and have been given on the recommendation of a jury consisting of eminent journalists of India.

Sanjay Saini is resident of Khandla village of district Mandi and son of Late Shri Nanak Chand Saini and Smt Krishna Saini.
